Building Relationships

The Sean Slater Agency is about building relationships. Potential clients come to the agency and remain customers as long as they reside in the Denver area, looking to the Sean Slater team to help them with decisions as their lives and needs change.

People usually associate State Farm with auto and home insurance, but the Sean Slater Agency offers an additional array of products and services. "My agency specializes in helping clients that are relocating to our area with their life, health and small business insurance needs," says State Farm Agent Sean Slater, whose offices are located on the garden level of the First National Bank Building at the northwest corner of Syracuse Street and Arapahoe Road in Centennial. "The clients we serve are the best part of the South of Denver area."

Born in Dallas, Texas, Slater moved to Colorado Springs when he was a toddler, granting him what he calls "semi-native" status. He now resides in Aurora with his "wonderful wife and best friend, along with two awesome daughters." The University of Colorado graduate bikes and posts respectable scores on the golf course, but spending time with his family tops his leisure-time list. Sunday nights at home are reserved for family games. "We have fun challenging each other. I believe competition inspires greatness, but it can also remind you to be humble."

Affiliated with State Farm for 21 years, Slater progressed from underwriting to senior management, learning the complicated and competitive ins and outs of the industry along the way. He opened the agency, which has three fully licensed and trained team members who are also notaries, in 2007. The team offers more than 65 years of insurance and financial service experience to its clientele. "Helping clients through difficult moments is the best part of my job," Slater said. "I recently had to deliver a life insurance claim check to a spouse who lost her husband a few weeks before Christmas. Her situation was a reminder to me and my team of why we ask our clients about their insurance and financial service needs. The life insurance proceeds will ensure the spouse and her children will not be burdened with financial strain while mourning the loss of a spouse and parent. It was powerful, visiting with my client the day I delivered the check to her."

Interacting with a diverse customer base, each with unique stories and individual needs, motivates Slater and his team. "I am excited that our agency plays an important role in their lives."
